Teach For Nepal and TFNAA facilitated its first Alumni Forum for its Alumni who have an interest in politics to come together and exchange their ideas, views, and opinions over “Chiya Time” on 6th November 2022. The forum was hosted at the TFN office from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM. In total 14 people participated in the gathering including 11 Alumni. In this Alumni Forum, three TFN Community Members, who contested in the local-level elections held earlier this year, were specially invited to share their learning, experiences, and future plan regarding their political aspirations. Among the invited community members were, TFN Alumnus Sumit Kharel, Cohort 2015 – candidate from Bhudhailkantha Municipality, TFN Chief Of Staff (COS) Krishna Kumar KC – candidate from Godawari Municipality, Lalitpur and TFN Former Staff Shailendra Jha – a candidate from Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality, Saptari during the local elections earlier this year.
Any opinions, views, or standpoints raised by any individual during such forum do not / did not represent the organizational view of Teach for Nepal and/or TFNAA. Teach For Nepal and TFNAA bear no responsibility, accountability, or liability for the ideas and views shared and/or endorsed by any participants of the gathering.

ABOUT TFN ALUMNI FORUM
Alumni Forum is an enabling space where Teach For Nepal Alumni are provided with an opportunity to exchange their views and ideas on a specific agenda. It is an informal unstructured gathering of Alumni who have a common interest in a subject matter where participants have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from each other. This also provides Alumni with a networking opportunity that would ideally lead to future collaborations among them.
Given the nature of the Alumni Forum, participants in such forums are assumed to be smaller than at other all Alumni events. Each Alumni Forum will have at least one resource person with expertise in the specific subject of the Forum.
Teach For Nepal with support from TFNAA will organize Alumni Forum, tentatively once every three months. The subject matter of each Alumni Forum will be guided by the TFN Alumni Career Paths.
We are grateful to our Alumni who participated in the first Alumni Forum. We look forward to having our Alumni in other Alumni Forums as well.
